Best applied to damp, "towel dry" hair, or with a drop of water added to the product in your palm. Scoop a dime sized amount of Volcanic Clay, then use your fingers and palms to emulsify in a circular motion, while spreading to your fingertips. Spread evenly throughout your hair. Style with your hands for a natural look, or with a comb for a more stylized look.

Our Volcanic Clay is a water-based, matte finish hair clay that adds volume and all day hold*, yet is easy to wash out and good for your hair and scalp. Ideal for those who want texture while maintaining a natural finish, the bentonite clay binds hair follicles together to add more volume while also providing hold for styling purposes.
*Important note: if you have very thick hair, and/or you are looking for a very strong hold in order to achieve a locked-in look, you'll want to check out our Sun Wax Pomade, which is our strongest hold hair styling product. If you're looking for a lighter hold for an even more natural look, you'll want to consider our Coastal Creme Pomade, which has our lightest hold

Church Volcanic Clay Pomade rebuilds, nourishes and styles hair - unlike most petroleum-based pomades that dry and destroy hair and scalp, our water-based, activated hair clay utilizes a potent emulsion of cleansing floral water, protectant fatty plant oils, and protein-rich botanical extracts. We hand select each plant ingredient and test each formulation for thousands of hours at our San Francisco barbershop prior to launch. Bottled in biophotonic glass jars to preserve ingredient integrity and potency, our products are made in very small batches with organic and wild-crafted ingredients, and so you may notice color variation from one bottle to the next as the ingredients change through the seasons.

Something very special
I am a barber and recently I was gifted the volcanic clay and costal creme pomade. My client purchased all 3 products but fell in love with the sun wax.. anyway I use tons of products/oils/creams and some are natural but some are definitely filled with chemicals. These products are special because they combine natural herbs/extracts that work to heal and style the hair which is pretty amazing I ended up mixing some of both products and they worked extremely well
Best Pomade ever made
The pomade that Church California makes is insane. Not only does it feel good knowing it’s made of all natural ingredients but it’s amazing and healthy for my hair. With most pomades you get an oily or sticky feeling from it but with this it’s just perfect and leaves my hair feeling completely natural and amazing while still having a great hold and moldability throughout the whole day! 5 stars from me fo sho!
This stuff is amazing…best I’ve ever used
I was skeptical when I saw this FB ad and almost always never pay attention to them. However, it’s like FB knew I was unhappy with my current hair product 🤔. After reading the reviews, I decided what do I have to lose but a few bucks. Best few bucks I’ve spent in a long time. This hair product keeps my hair place all day while also keeping a natural look to it. I love it and cannot recommend it enough.
